I have just completed my treatment - and I am a totally different person to who I was when I walked through the gates. The foundation that Andy, Chris, Beth and all staff as well as my peers have given me is something I didn’t imagine was possible on arrival. Magic is done inside here with the lessons and workshops as good as my university and some. I can’t thank everyone enough for all their love and support - true family. I cannot reccomend PCP Luton enough if you need the help and most importantly, want the help - this is the place.

I can say that in the last month I have learnt more about myself than the past 30 years of my life. I have grown and become better than I was before my use. I can’t recommend this place enough, Andy and Chris have been absolutely great and supportive. All of the staff have been amazing and the peers are equally amazing. The focus on reconnecting with my family was amazing, I am proud of myself now.

My daughter has now been in rehab for seven weeks and, apart from a small setback during the first two weeks, she seems to be returning to the daughter we had not seen for a very long time. We cannot wait to visit her this coming weekend.

The team at PCP Luton work incredibly hard and their three-step approach to recovery has been excellent. Andy, in particular, stands out. Not only is he helping my daughter with her recovery, but he also regularly keeps in touch with us, which helps ease our worries and keeps us informed about her progress.

Their tireless work so far has given me hope that my daughter will finally be okay. I understand that it is still early days, but my wife, our other children, and I are very hopeful for the future.

Thank you to everyone at PCP Luton for the care, support, and dedication you have shown to both our daughter and our family. It means more than words can express.

My partner entered PCP in early January for four months of treatment after years of struggle and decline. We had reached a point where we were beginning to lose hope, as nothing up to that point seemed to be working, which was heartbreaking for all of us.

I was, and continue to be, absolutely astounded by the woman who came home. Not only is she thriving in her sobriety and embracing life every single day, but she is positive, confident, happy, and has a clear sense of who she is and where she wants to go. She is the complete opposite of the person who was admitted in January.

I cannot thank Andy and the entire team enough for their unwavering dedication to her recovery. They never gave up on her, and the care, support, and tools they provided have enabled her to completely transform her life.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I will be forever grateful for everything you have done for her, and for giving us back the person we thought we almost lost.

An amazing place!
I visited my relative in December 2025 and wasn't sure what to expect, I was welcomed by very friendly staff initially.
My relative had been there for 2 months and welcomed me with a big hug, the change in him was outstanding. He had made friends with others that were recovering too. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and made us feel at ease and reassured that my relative was being looked after.
It's an amazing place full of good people and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this rehabilitation centre to anyone. My relative is working hard and determined to succeed. He has so much support and guidance, that he is learning so much about himself. I will be forever grateful to everyone especially Andy for what he has done and the care and support provided. This really has been the lifeline he needed.
Amazing place!!!

I came into PCP completely broken and was in a crisis after cocaine took over me destroying my life with my family and friends I knew I couldn’t cope and needed help.

I heard good things about this rehab facility and my family booked me in for a 28 day residential therapy stay.

I didn’t know what to expect but knew I had no choice to regain my life.

The facility met with my expectations it was clean with comfortable accommodation.

I was very underweight upon arriving and within a week or so my weight started to increase due to a nutritious and well balanced food thanks to Antonio and Beth’s cooking.

I have lots of physical health issues and the nursing and support staff were very supportive and helpful attending to my needs. Big thanks to Akita for her caring and kindness.

The days were filled with group therapy and learning sessions taken by the two councillors.

I must thank both Andy and Chris who gave me a pretty hard time, although this became a huge benefit to me in terms of how much they helped me with my anxiety mental state and recovery, they are both passionate and dedicated in their approach.

My peers were fantastic I made some great new friends who were very supportive to me.

There was a wide range of programs which I found very beneficial.

I completed my months stay and came out a different person, clear headed and more focused that I had been for years!!

I can’t thank everyone at PCP for helping me get my life back and they also offer ongoing support and assistance going forward.

I must also thank Maria admin manager who has been very supportive and helpful during my stay!

I can highly recommend this facility to anyone else who needs help with addiction therapy.

Thank you all so very much 🙏.

I was also invited back for a reunion BBQ at PCP was lovely seeing everyone the food was delicious and a great vibe and atmosphere.

Everyone went to great effort to celebrate and make it a memorable experience.

Thank you all 👌🙏👍 xx

What We Do

We provide safe, confidential, medically supervised drug and alcohol detox at our residential clinic in Clapham. Detox is delivered by our in-house doctors and nurses and is fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission.

How We Can Help

Most people who walk through our door have tried to stop on their own and not been able to. That is normal, and it is not a moral failing. Our team has helped thousands of people break the cycle, and we have the structure, the medical cover, and the experience to help you do the same.

Why Choose Our London Centre

PCP Clapham is our smallest and most personalised centre. With only 9 beds, you get one of the highest counsellor-to-client ratios in private UK rehab, in a discreet residential setting in Zone 2 London. We are CQC regulated and we have been treating addiction successfully for over 15 years.

How to Get Help

Pick up the phone. A confidential conversation with our team costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Call 0800 0380 480 at any time, day or night.

Our Residential Rehab and Addiction Treatment Approach in London

Every person who arrives at PCP London has a different story, and the treatment is shaped around that. We build a personalised programme around you, not the other way around. Treatment in Clapham begins with a medically supervised detox. Our in-house doctors and nurses are on-site to manage withdrawal safely and comfortably, whether you are detoxing from alcohol or drugs.

Once detox is complete, the focus shifts to understanding what drives the addiction. Our therapeutic programme combines one-to-one counselling, group therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) to help you identify the thought patterns and behaviours that keep the cycle going. We also use holistic approaches including mindfulness, relapse prevention planning, and wellness sessions to support your physical and mental recovery.

Programme length is flexible. A typical stay runs from 14 to 28 days, with extended programmes available for those who would benefit from a longer period of support. Our secondary programme provides continued therapeutic care for clients who have completed primary treatment, and the aftercare programme supports you once you return home.

For clients dealing with co-occurring mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, OCD, or PTSD, we offer integrated dual diagnosis treatment so both sides are addressed at the same time rather than in isolation.

Medical Detox

Safe, 24/7 medically supervised detox managed by our in-house doctors and nursing team.

Therapy & Counselling

One-to-one counselling, group therapy, and CBT delivered by experienced addiction therapists.

Aftercare & Support

Ongoing aftercare programme and access to our secondary programme to support long-term recovery.

What Our Rehab Treatment Involves

Step 1: Free Confidential Assessment

We begin with a confidential assessment to understand your alcohol use, health, circumstances and recovery goals.

This helps us recommend the most suitable treatment plan and identify whether detox is required.

Step 2: Medically Supported Detox

If detox is needed, experienced professionals will monitor your withdrawal symptoms and overall wellbeing.

Medication may be provided when clinically appropriate to make the process safer and more comfortable.

Step 3: Therapy and Recovery Support

Treatment then focuses on the causes and patterns behind alcohol dependence.

Your programme may include one-to-one therapy, group sessions and recovery-focused workshops to help you build healthier coping strategies.

Step 4: Aftercare and Relapse Prevention

Recovery continues after residential treatment ends.

We provide ongoing aftercare, relapse prevention support and recovery planning to help you maintain progress and manage future triggers.

Drug and Alcohol Addiction in London

1,168

Drug poisoning deaths registered in London (Greater London region) over the most recent reporting period

77.4 per 100,000

Alcohol-related hospital admissions rate in London (narrow definition, latest published)

35,000+

Adults in contact with drug and alcohol treatment services in London annually

London carries one of the largest concentrations of substance misuse in the UK. ONS data shows over a thousand drug poisoning deaths registered in Greater London in the most recent reporting period, and alcohol-related hospital admissions in the capital remain stubbornly above the England average.

Certain areas in London, such as Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Lambeth, Southwark, and Brent, are known to experience particularly high levels of drug problems. These boroughs report elevated rates of drug-related crime, hospital admissions, and substance misuse, reflecting the broader challenges faced across the city.

Tens of thousands of Londoners are in contact with structured drug and alcohol treatment services every year, the majority of which are NHS-commissioned outpatient services delivered through borough-level providers. Publicly funded residential rehab placements, by contrast, are extremely limited, and waiting times for the few that exist can run into months.

That gap is the reason private residential rehab matters in London. For someone who needs to be away from their environment, away from their suppliers, and looked after medically through detox, waiting is rarely a safe option. PCP Clapham can typically arrange admission within 24 hours.

That deliberate cap is what makes the Clapham programme different. The clinic itself sits a short walk from Clapham Common. It is decorated and laid out for comfort, with en-suite bedrooms, communal therapy and dining spaces, and quiet areas for reflection. We treat people from across London and the South East, including high-functioning professionals whose work or family obligations require discretion.

We are CQC regulated, our medical detox is delivered by experienced in-house doctors and nurses, and our therapeutic team brings decades of combined experience in addiction treatment. We treat:

Frequently Asked Questions About Rehab in London

How much does rehab cost in London?

Private residential rehab in London typically costs between £4,000 and £12,000 for a 28-day programme, with the upper end of that range covering luxury rehabs aimed at high-net-worth clients. PCP Clapham sits at the more affordable end of the London market for residential care of this standard. Payment plans are available so you can spread the cost. Call us on 08000 380 480 for a confidential conversation about pricing.

Free NHS rehab does exist in London but it is almost always outpatient, delivered through borough-level services such as Change Grow Live, Turning Point or WDP. Free residential rehab placements on the NHS are very rare, usually reserved for cases where community treatment has not worked and the risk to the patient is severe. Waiting lists are long. If you need immediate residential treatment, private rehab is usually the fastest and most effective route.

Yes, but it is uncommon. An NHS GP or a local authority commissioner can in principle refer a patient to a private residential rehab, but funding decisions are made case by case and depend on whether community-based treatment has been tried first. Most of our London clients self-refer or are referred privately by family members.

Yes. You don’t need a referral. You can call PCP directly, speak to our admissions team, and start the process yourself. We carry out a free, confidential assessment over the phone and can arrange your admission within 24 hours.

A typical residential programme runs between 14 and 28 days, with longer stays available for clients who would benefit from a more extended period in treatment. We also offer a secondary programme for clients who want to continue their recovery in a structured environment after completing primary treatment.

Inpatient rehab means you live at the clinic for the duration of your treatment. You receive 24-hour medical support, a structured daily programme of therapy and counselling, and you are removed from everyday triggers. Outpatient rehab means attending appointments while continuing to live at home, which works for milder cases but offers less structure and protection. PCP London Clapham is a residential inpatient centre with round-the-clock care.

Call our admissions team on 08000 380 480. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We carry out a free, confidential assessment over the phone and can arrange admission within 24 hours if needed. You can also start the process online through our pre-admission form.

Recovery doesn’t stop on the day you leave. Every client who completes treatment at PCP Clapham is enrolled in our aftercare programme. London also has more free community recovery support than anywhere else in the UK, including Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, SMART Recovery and borough-level services from Change Grow Live and Turning Point.

We have a full guide on what to bring to rehab. In general, pack comfortable clothing, toiletries, any prescribed medication, and a form of ID. We provide bedding, towels and all meals.
